A collection of pieces from 2019 - 2024

1. Coalescing is the most recent thing that I’ve recorded. It developed during two sessions last month, while I was enjoying some free time in Krakow. It features samples from an Animal Magic track, processed with Max4Live devices.

2. What I love most about working with M4L devices is that you can set up generative systems that are unruly and unpredictable. Then when they are running direct them, making very quick creative decisions from moment to moment. This track, Silent Subversive, is a good example of something improvised live in this way.

3. This piece is another example of this process.

4. Last Autumn I was listening a lot to Robert Fripp´s collection of Frippertronics “Music For Quiet Moments”. Swan Orchids is an experiment with live-looping & recording using strings instead of guitar.

5. This piece was created using wave simulating software triggering an FM soft synth.

6. Nova 3 is the oldest track on this album. It developed from some Roland D-05 synth improvisations that I made around five years ago. I edited the recordings step-by-step to create something that worked for me as an aural narrative.

7. To The East was created using the same approach in Ableton Live as tracks 2 & 3.

8. Another piece that came out of last Autumn´s live-looping experiments.

I took this photo at the Aquarium du Québec in 2007. At the time I had a bit of a thing for walruses.
